Adastra and Ascribe Link A&E and OoH

Adastra has teamed up with Ascribe, the leading ED System provider, to enable interoperability between Adastra’s case management application and Ascribe’s third generation ED product, Symphony.

Adastra’s v3 system is used by nearly all operational hub services across the UK and in this role it handles around 12m urgent care encounters annually.  Some of these are patients referred onwards to A&E or minor injuries unit; and there is a significant flow in the opposite direction as services become more adept at filtering primary care attendees out of A&E.   In some A&E Departments as many as 40% of presenting patients are considered to merit a primary care response.

Bedfordshire Go Live With Electronic A&E Referrals

Patients referred to Bedford’s out-of-hours (OoH) provider Bedoc from Bedford Hospital’s A&E department now benefit from the electronic transfer of their details thanks to the latest interoperability development from Adastra.

The system, which went live in February, is the first in the UK to allow the seamless transfer of patients’ demographic and clinical details from A&E into OoH. This avoids the need for patients to repeat themselves when seen at the primary care centre - a complaint often highlighted in patient surveys, and reduces the risk of errors introduced by re-keying data.
