Health and Safety is of paramount importance when selecting products suitable for in-car use. Adastra's chosen system supplier, Microbus Mobile Data Ltd., is the leading supplier of in-vehicle computers to the UK emergency services.

Our preferred in-car computer solution uses Microbus' M-PC with a safe and secure dashboard-mounted screen, as can be seen in the photo here. As a specialist company dedicated to the UK design and manufacture of specialist mobile units their understanding of the technical and safety requirements is second to none. Featuring a purpose-built boot-mounted PC the system is designed to withstand the rigours of mobile life - from sub-zero tempera-tures to the potholes of the worst rural road - the M-PC will carry on working. Connectivity is achieved via a GSM modem, ensuring coverage even in areas where GPRS does not yet reach, and contract charges are minimal since the unit never initiates a call.

We are also able to supply and support Aremote running on a Panasonic Toughbook, though customers should be advised that this solution cannot be used in a moving vehicle since to do so would contravene Health and Safety regulations. All equipment sold for use within a vehicle must be e-Marked to ensure it does not interfere with the safety of the vehicle, and whilst most laptops do not carry this marking the Panasonic Toughbook does.
